Internships
For students in science and engineering programs at UC Berkeley and other colleges and universities nearby. We offer two kinds: a paid internship on the hands-on side of the lab, and a research internship built around a project we scope with you to fit your curriculum.
Lab Technician Internship (paid)
The hands-on side of a working biomedical lab: organizing, building, restocking, keeping it running.
8–16 hours a week during the semester, scheduled around your classes.

Mosaic Design Labs is an AI-native biomedical product development studio in West Berkeley. We design instruments and devices for biodefense, point-of-care diagnostics and scientific research: firmware, circuit boards, microfluidics, mechanical design, and the software that ties them together.
AI is part of how we work every day. Our own agents keep our inventory, draft our documents, drive our CAD and lab tools, and help us test ideas quickly. People make every decision that matters, and we hold the work to the standard medical devices demand.
We believe the best way to learn this work is as an apprentice: at the bench, next to engineers doing it for real, picking up the hands-on craft and the new AI-native tools at the same time. Whatever role you start in, we want you to leave more capable than you arrived, and we want to grow people into bigger roles here.
